Ocean Literacy Course - Starting 6th November 2024 (Online)

Who is the course for?
Anyone looking to learning more about the ocean for their own knowledge or teaching, it's importance and what we can do to protect it.
What is covered in the course?
Ocean literacy is often defined as “an understanding of your influence on the ocean, and it's influence on you”. Lessons will cover:

Session 1 - Changing Climate & Oceans - Wednesday 6th November

Session 2 - Marine Pollution - Wednesday 13th November
​
Session 3 - Food and the Sea - Wednesday 20th November
​
Session 4 - Marine Urbanisation - Wednesday 27th November

Where is the course?
Sessions will be online and published once a week. They will be one hour long and you can access them at your leisure once published. You will access to your teacher (Sam) via a private Facebook Group. Sam is a Chartered Scientist, Environmental Manager and Environmentalist with a passion for teaching.

When does the course start?
The first lesson will be published on Wednesday 6th November. You can access this at your leisure during the week. You can decide how much time you wish to spend on tasks (set at the end of each session) and individual research.

How much does the course cost?
The cost is £20 for the 4 sessions plus access learning resources via the Facebook Group.
